Flowers will rot is the flowing world that symbolized Tamara’s Qaddoumi feelings. The artist’s first single takes the form of this video clip, telling us the story of a childhood memory.

Tamara Qaddoumi’s first single is brought to life by the collaborative effort of Beirut based motion design Tic Motion and Toronto based designer/animator Pablo Lozano. Formed by a mix of literal and abstract imagery, the film comes together using the bird as a thread that leads and connects each part of the journey.

The beautiful visuals are sustained by an incredible story.

On his website, Pablo describes the project as follows:

“As a kid, growing in the Kuwait desert, Tamara always felt fascinated by how birds bathe in the sand when they have no water. Freedom, growth, making of what you can to survive, and the irony of bathing in the sand to cleanse yourself are all symbolism present in the lyrics.

So I wanted to be sure to reflect that in the video, creating an ever-evolving, flowing world that symbolized the artist inner world and feelings.”

It has its own pace and it automatically leaves an impression. I was pleasantly surprised by the music video.
I knew the song for some time now, as I played it a couple of times on Spotify.

The playfulness of the colors and the shapes just made me curious. It’s refreshing. It just draws your attention and feeds your curiosity.

I personally think that this would have been even better if the visuals would be more in sink with the audio, but that’s just me. It doesn’t make me like it any less. Beauty is the eyes of the beholder. What do you think?
